Could you please help us? I recently tried to email photos and received this error message: The connection to the server has failed. Subject 'Emailing: portrait', Account: 'jake7191@verizon.net', Server: 'outgoing.verizon.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E......this account jake 7191@verizon.net was my son Jake's old verizon email, but now we have internet through zoomtown and email through yahoo. We can't email photos. What can we do please?
Can you help us find out why we can't email photos?
Your computer is still set up with the verizon mail server, or you would not have gotten that error message. If your running Windows, you or your son probably set this up in the mail program Outlook or Outlook express. If your computer still loads Outlook, change or delete the mail server setting in this program. Look in 'Control panel', select 'mail' and erase any listing for Virozon in the mail settings. Since you are not using Outlook Express anymore, you should make sure it is not in your start up program list. You can change this by going to your start menu, select 'run' on the menu, then type in 'msconfig' and select.
Then look at your 'Control panel' then 'internet options' settings. May sure the box in 'mail server' is blank. Since you are using Yahoo web-mail for email, go to the Yahoo Mail menu bar. Under options make Yahoo your default email.
You can also ask Zoomtown for help in changing this over.
